The mission of the Salem Fenians Hurling Club is promoting the traditional Irish sport of hurling around the Salem, Oregon area. We established ourselves in the spring of 2012 to bring the game to Salem and the surrounding communities. We are currently a “novice club” of the Cascade Hurling League, with the goal to field teams in tournaments throughout Oregon and Washington and become a full league club.
We are all about open participation and introducing people to the game. We accept people of all skill levels to come out and give hurling a try!
Want to know where we practice? We post regular practice announcements on our Facebook page. (No, you don’t need a Facebook account to look at the page) Generally, we practice twice per week, once on a weekday evening and once on a weekend morning.
Worried about needing equipment? Don’t be. We have extra equipment to help new players get started.
Never heard of hurling? Most people in the United States haven’t. Don’t let that stop you. Go to our Hurling 101 page to get a primer.
